KISMAYO, Somalia, August 7, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Jubaland President Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Madobe) has returned from a visit to Gedo regional district of Dolow in southern Somalia on Friday, Garowe Online reports.

Madobe and his delegation jetted back to the southern port city of Kismayo after a three-day stay in Gedo which is a home to rival politicians.

Political and community leaders who had since been critical of his administration are said to have agreed to partake in the consolidation of Jubaland peace process and upcoming presidential elections.

Jubaland Vice President Gen. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismael Fartag has brokered the deal between Madobe and Gedo heavyweights.

Over the course of tête-à-tête, in attendance were Gedo Governor Mohamed Abdi Kilil, Ahlu Sunna’s Mohamed Yusuf Aw Libah and former MP and Southwest state vice presidential claimant Mohamud Sayid Adan.

The end to political dispute comes on the heels of criteria set out for Jubaland presidency.

they made peace with no jareer and no amxaar in sight, thats true leadership indeed. somalia needs more of this and less of amisom referees and bodyguards. i have been seeing jareers in all somali affairs for so long, its weird not seeing one. this is the way forward to hell with african jareer solutions, let them fixed their broken nations first, and get hiv and poverty under control.

My aunt said the same thing.....she thinks its for Cagdheer from NFD who don't want to be under Kenyan government...she thinks its their way of leaving Kenya and having a slice of freedom....if thats the case, Gedo will break away from Jubaland and join South West insha Allah. Even the hospital projects in Gedo are meant to also serve Hiiran and other gobols. Ogaden are not loyal to the blue and white flag....they got left out and they're still feeling the sting decades later.....If those two Ogaden regions were free...AMISOM/Ethiopian Army/KDF would never have entered Somalia.
