That's nonsense. The illegals migrants in Hargeisa are not harmed or raped, in fact they are very intimidating and bold. Don't use hypothetical situations to excuse actual cases. Nobody rapes or mistreats migrants in Somaliland/Djibouti.

First of all Mogadishu is only 1K km away from Djibouti, not 2.

Secondly, geography and cultural affinity is not the same thing. Yemenis are culturally closer to Syrians who are 2500 km away than to Djiboutians on the other side of the pond.

I don't see Yemenis as very different from Bantus in Somalia, with the exception of skin tone and hairiness, since neither are indigenous to the Horn of Africa and are normally short and stocky in frame. The major difference between the two is the circumstances under which they came. One group has greater access to capital, advocates and a homeland that they have direct ties to, while the other group are descendants of prisoners of war/indentured workers. In Djibouti there is a large Yemeni population already and they have some clout, obviously they care about Yemen. I'm also not going to pretend that Somalis aren't aesthetically prejudice. For goodness sake, they are keen on picking up physical peculiarities and being forthright about saying them to your face. If you're blind, that's what they'll call you. This is a hypothetical but if forced to choose between two undesirable traits they would prefer a beak/hook nose over a bulbous one. When in reality a straight nose that the majority of Somalis possess is infinity more desirable option than the two. I just had to say something that would resonate with Itrah.
