This is the second time now i've heard a Somali say to him that a Somali wife will teach you the language.

There's some truth to it. A cousin of mine born in Switzerland married a fresh of the boat Somali girl and his Somali went from crap to pretty decent.

But he busts them and tells them that his wife is a Taiwanese

I don't know if the Somalis who make that statement understand how demeaning that is.

I noticed that when Somalis meet ajnabis who are interested in or show some curiosity about Somalis or Somali language and culture the first thing that comes from their mouths is gabadh somali ah ma rabtaa ama ma ku siina, they are generous people indeed
