Being one culture, one ethnicity and one race is not a good thing. People respect each other more when they have differences in culture, religion and ethnicity. We have 50 different ethnic tribes in Kenya and ethiopia and they all respect and co-operate with one another. Somalis cannot get alone because they are one ethnic, one culture and one religion. Maybe we should invite other ethnic cultures like the Burmese, the sysrians and the Central African republic Muslims. That would make somalis one ethnic and one culture.

We are not "one culture". There is big difference between northerners and southerners.

The problems is not homogeny. Many of the most successful nations on earth are homogeneous e.g. Japan, Germany, Korea etc. The problem is that Somalis are one of the most shortsighted people on earth. They can't see anything beyond today and their qabiil.

Why are reer koonfur so obsessed with bringing foreigners into Somalia? You can't even get along wiyh another clan and you want to bring in other ethnicities. Smh

That is the reason. We can't get along within inter-clan because that is all we see as different.If we see Burmese, afghans and syrians, we will see other somalis as our own.

News flash, Somalia is only 80% Somali and this number is declining every day.

Somali is federation(if that's the right word) of people from different backgrounds who've adopted the language and tradition. Anyone can be somali. No matter what the tribes do to eachother they will always be racist towrads if other people lived in the somali inhabbited area who don't speak the somali language esp Africans(jareer) or Asians. So that's not a good idea for Somalia right now cuz it's suffering from civil war of tribalism and terrorism

actually Somalis are pretty homogenous.the language and culture is organic for the most part and developed over a long period of time.the theory about Somalis being a convenient confederation is not supported by genetics,linguistics or oral history.somalis aren't a federation,we are bounded together by religion,language and shared ancestry.we are less of a federation than most other ethnic groups in Africa.the oromos you people love to link with Somalis are more of confederation of sheegatos.

Cities like Mogadishu, Kismayo and Baydhabo are not even Somali anymore. 90% of the inhabitants are Bantus -not to mention all the rich farmlands in the riverrine regions.

It always makes chuckle when deluded hawiyas and dooros on here post pictures of southern cities - as if they still belong to Somalis.

Hehe, exaggeration much. It's more or less around a third in those cities. But I get where you are coming from.

Lol. I am exaggerating but a third is still a large minority. Imagine if a third of the UK or Germany was muslim or black/asian. There would be a race war.

Wrong

If you look countries that are homogenous like Japan is a homogeneous nation that has some of the best OECD figures on standard of living, longest life expectancy and very low levels of income inequality. Compare that to the UK which is (diverse) pluralistic society with greater income, health and social inequality.

Multiculturalism leads to instability,conflict and inequality. Homgeneity leads to a more social cohesive country.

First of all somali is an ethnicity, language ,cutlure lineage and nationality. Anyone can not be somali!!
Secondly we can barely cohere as a nation even tho we are the same ethncity. It would be suicidal if we incorporate other groups!

A stark difference should be made between being citizen of Somali republic and being Somali ethnic.

The Somali republic has different ethnic groups, many different languages and dialects spoken right across the country, and newly to a minor extent different religious and denominational groups.

The Somali Ethnic group traditionally spread across Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya and Djibouti speak same language (different dialects but intelligible to each other) and looks the same.

Therefore Somalia is not completely homogeneous country. That is it explained to you like a 5 year old.
