Caribbean countries are asking for billions in slavery reparations

Post by RoobleAlWaliid »

But UK Prime Minister David Cameron says it's time to "move on."

I hate when Somalis butt into issues that don't concern them.

Counter argument:

Most of these Caribbean countries are economically better off than African countries where the blacks came from.

I'd much rather be born as an African American than a Yoruba from Benin.

Expect the Somali twitter chicken-heads to start butting in as well. We seem to be a people perpetually obsessed with other people's business except our own - case in point, Syria.

Can you list some Carribean countries that are better off. Most of their economy is owned by Indians, Chinese or the Whites. lol
To me Africans have it better.

Maybe if they focused less on Hip-Hop and Martin Luther King and instead followed Malcolm X , they would have gotten their reparations. I can't take them serious.

True. Even though there is nothing wrong with analyzing others, but mostly those that do have no clue about themselves or their people and tend to ignore their issues. Too much headless chickens running around.

Most of them are, here's a sample list:

Code: Select all

Trinidad and Tobago $32,139
The Bahamas $22,832
Antigua and Barbuda $13,428
Panama $12,744
Saint Kitts and Nevis $14,314
Suriname $16,623
Barbados $16,151
Brazil $15,941
Comparison, most West African countries have GDP per capita in the $1000 to $3000 range.

Itrah, I would rather be a Nigerian or Senegalese than any AA or afro-Caribbean. The fact I descend from adoon alone would put me in a suicidal mood. African nations are on the come-up and the only reason that Tiny Caribbean islands have better gdp per capita is because of the tiny populations and a lot of those countries have rich retired cadaan/Asian expats.

You can't compare the economic prospects of Africa and American madow.

That's because the economy of those tiny shitty Islands are owned by Indians, Whites and other Asians. They generate a lot of income from tourism and hosting Europeans, except Trinidad and Tobago who is a leading oil/gas producer out of the islands. Besides their population are small, so the GDP per capita is high.

Although I wouldn't say the Blacks there are well off.

If Caribbean countries deserve reparations from Britain for crimes that occurred centuries ago, then it will open a Pandora's Box of different countries suing other countries for historical wrongs. Russia will sue France for the Napoleonic invasions. Greece will sue Turkey for the Ottoman occupations. The Chinese will sue Mongolia and Japan for historical atrocities. Bantus will sue Somalia for so-called "historical wrongs".

It will go on and on. Sometimes you just have to let shit go. How can you expect a man to pay for the sins of his forefathers? If anything, Britain was the first country to officially outlaw slavery, and then they set themselves upon an official policy where slavery was gradually outlawed worldwide over the next 100 years. It's chiefly because of Britain that slavery today is not the worldwide institution it was just 200 years ago.

Exactly, instead of dwelling on the past, build a better future.
