A question for both men and women not married currently.

What would you say is the acceptable amount you would say for a Nikah for you?

Me personally I never saw Nikah amount should ever be more maximum than 1500USD. For me personally when I was getting married my Nikah amount was not even 1500USD but I had him promise me something more valuable to me personally.

I think this unregulated market needs to be controlled by the government. I am sure nikah contributes greatly to the UK economy.

I would say about £1 or thereabouts.

3 reason why women demand so much money:

1. She is just there for the money, and she don't really care about the man that much
2. She wants to show the world she is worth a lot
3. She does not want a nice insurance deal, if she was to get divorced.

This is what I've observed: If you make the meher easy for him out of love/you don't want to over burden him guaranteed he won't be grateful and you've basically set the standard for what he thinks you expect from him in your marriage forever.

Set the standard from get go. That ni99a best be working 4 jobs if he has to.

Some of you are either delusional or have to do some serious studying of Islam. A Nikah does not necessarily mean a certain amount but something must be offered. As for women who ask a lot of money being from what I have seen most Women who ask a crazy amount succum to pressure from the Family.

When I married my Husband he was still in University and did not finish two years until I did which meant I had to support the family so calm down with the issue we are all after money. I asked this question
