I doubt the repubs are going to win. The minority will tilt the result towards the democratic candidate.

If the federal reserves actually raises interest rates later this year or in 2016 and crashes the economy, it might favor a republican victory.Estarix wrote:I doubt the repubs are going to win. The minority will tilt the result towards the democratic candidate.
If they don't and just keep the bubble going for at least 2017, then democrats will win.
Democracy can easily be manipulated.

are you nuts??? they cannot raise the interest rates because its the logical thing to do, they should have done it in 2008.
its too late to raise it now, the bubble is too big, popping the bubble will be more disasterous than the 1929 depression.
they can and will kick the can down the road to the future, continue inflating the bubble and wish for the best.
I am sure they can keep doing this for another 20 years at least..

These are the three main scenarios that might happen in the coming year:gurey25 wrote:are you nuts??? they cannot raise the interest rates because its the logical thing to do, they should have done it in 2008.

1. They raise by 0.25% and never go higher. Markets will overreact and think that the fed will hike even more (but they wont), economy will crash mildly but recovers afterwards. 50/50 chance of Republican or Democrat winning.
2. Feds wont raise at all and the bubble becomes even larger. Very low unemployment, everyone is drinking the Kool-Aid of economic recovery. Guaranteed Democrat victory.
3. They raise and continue on a series of rate hikes. The economy will fall flat on its face. Guaranteed Republican victory.
Kinda sick how much power they have over election outcomes.

There's slight differences but here's the thing. The Republicans control the House, have a shot at keeping the Senate next year. If they keep both houses and then take the White House, we're back to 2001 when Bush came into office.gurey25 wrote:the question is , is there a difference between the 2 parties?

Which means.. more tax cuts for the wealthy, a spike in military spending, cuts of social programs and maybe even privatizing social security.
If the Dems win, it'll be mostly the same. The Republicans will control Congress and the Dems keep the White House. Everything really just stays the same. Bernie Sanders is probably the best candidate but even if he as a self described socialist won, he wouldn't be able to implement his ambitious programs of taxing the rich and banks, funding free public university tuition, single payer health care, etc.
Hilary Clinton and Joe Biden (if he runs) are obviously just more of the same. They talk the populace line but they will do as Obama has done and every president before. Be good managers of the wealth of the rich ruling class. Whoever wins the nomination will probably have Obama's campaign network at their disposal which has killed the Republicans in 08 and '12.
In summary if the Republicans win the WH and control the Congress, the US will have a depression by 2020. If the Dems win the WH, it'll be the same slow bubble where collapse is kicked down the road.
