The Confession of a Senior Somali National Army Soldier..

Post by TheLoFather »

In a bid to foster national unity and pride, the Somali government holds elaborate celebrations in the capital Mogadishu on every 12th October to mark the anniversary of their flag’s creation.

Security of Somalia’s city Mogadishu’s has been tightened and hundreds of security were deployed in every corner of the city.

The government and its citizens celebrated the anniversary of the national Flag Day.

The veteran Officer describes his feelings on this momentous occasion:

I sat, as did tens of thousands of other Somalis, and watched as the celebrations underwent peacefully.
At first, I felt a swell of pride and patriotism while Hassan Sheikh MAHAMUUD stood and saluted the Somali National Army officers as they marched in all their glory.

However, all that pride quickly vanished as I later watched 21 SNA Soldiers in full dress uniform with rifles, fire a 21-gun salute to the President.
It was then that I realized how far Somalia's military had deteriorated.
Every one of them missed him !!
