I'm always told that Somalis can't be Christians because there was a Catholic mission in Mogadishu that never grew beyond a handful of people. What many fail to know is that the Kind of Christian practice offered by Catholicism is very similar to what Muslims have, and it therefore wouldn't make sense in theory for a Muslim to abandon Islam in favour of Catholiscm.

However, Evangelical Christianity is very different from Islam, and if this was the brand of Christianity that had been present in Mogadishu, the results would have been extremely different.

As far as I know of a girl here in SNET (based in the West) has a brother has become a Christian and no amount of argument can change him.
