Men have revealed what it's like to be raped by a woman on a secrets app, to make people aware that they too can be victims of sexual crime.
The anonymous Whisper users spoke of their pride at the bravery of those who speak out about male rape, which is rarely discussed.
However, others asked how it was physically possible for a many to be raped by a woman.
Female survivors also questioned whether male rape could be classed as equally traumatic.

The conversation was started by an anonymous Whisper user who wrote: 'Last week I openly announced my rape that occurred two years ago. I'm a male. My attacker was female. It does happen.'
Within hours, the post had received more than 245 replies and had been liked more than 1665 times.
'I'm so proud of you for pulling through and being able to speak up about such a horrible subject, especially being a guy,' a supporter wrote.


'Nobody deserves to get raped. Stay strong.'
'Happens all the time,' another agreed. 'Men just aren't taken seriously.'
It wasn't long before other men shared how they too had also been victims.
'Happened to me too,' one wrote. 'Drugged me up til I couldn't move and forced herself on me.
'Guys can be date raped too.'

Several users spoke about the role of drugs. One said he'd been drugged by a woman who forced herself on him, while another revealed his ex had given him the party drug MDMA and made him have sex with her

A similar drug rape story came from a man who said his ex-partner had given him the party drug MDMA, referred to as Molly.
'My ex gave me Molly and made me have sex with her,' he said. 'I wanted to wait, but apparently not.'
Another revealed an emotional story of realising he and a friend had both suffered the same experience.
'It's happened to me,' he said. 'When I told my best friend he broke down and cried. It's happened to him too.'
Similarly, a woman made the discovery that a male friend was also a victim.
'I'm a female and I was raped as a kid but not many people know,' she revealed. 'Before my boyfriend and I actually started dating, I told him.
'Turns out he was raped too. It's terrible but we have each other.'

A man sympathised by offering a slightly different perspective, saying he'd been attacked by a relative
'I was raped by a girl,' he said. 'Well, sexually abused by my aunt when I was three.'
Multiple users said they had male friends who had been raped by women.
'It happened to a friend of mine,' one wrote. 'He was attacked and raped by two girls. 'He called me so I went to pick him up and took him to hospital.'
However, some users questioned whether it was physically possible for a man to be raped by a woman.

One asked how a man could maintain an erection if he didn't want to have sex.
'Sorry for what happened but how does that actually work,' one asked. 'Not wanting details, just don't get the mechanics?'
People were quick to jump to the man's defence and give explanations.
'Women can orgasm and conceive during a rape and men can get erections during a rape,' one wrote. 'The human body is a strange thing.'
Another commented: 'Rape doesn't have to include violence. We have no control over how our bodies react to sexual stimulation.
'He could have been drugged, or sleeping, or many other things.'

Not everyone was sympathetic though, including a person whose son had been raped by a man.
'He was in the hospital for seven months and had two rectal surgeries, but you're traumatised?' they wrote.
Then, a female user said that she didn't believe it was possible for a man to be physically overpowered by a woman.
'Okay, let's be real,' she wrote. 'Unless you're tied down or something, it's like that you could have escaped.
'Also, to the commenters, I'd say being raped by a male is definitely more traumatic than the reverse.'
Her opinion was backed up by a fellow female user.
'I couldn't imagine it hurting like it does when a man rapes a woman,' she said. 'But I am sorry.'

The only way a woman can rape a man is if he was under the influence of some sort of a drug, not saying it doesn't happen but it's physically impossible. It would've made more sense if it was men getting raped by other men since its very difficult for dudes to come forward and admit to it.
