So I am debating whether to carry my $2500 in my pocket or wire through Xawaala. The transfer fee is .05*2500= $125.

$125 seemed to be a lot of money. The risk is that, I can get robbed on the way and all the worries that it will get lost.

What would you do?

Xawaala or Carry?

If you don't want to pay the xawaala fees you could hide your money where the sun don't shine and pray that you don't get stripped search

Send it through the Xawaala, even if you have to pay $125. Don't be Bakheel and Hunguri weyn.

Airlines force you to declare anything more than $2000 with customs. Kenyan custom workers aren't known for their honesty.

No declaration needed for anything less than 10,000.

Dont pay 125 on ur money.Take it with you.U will be fine.

Avoid talking to anyone in Swahili when u land.They will not dare ask for shaxaad in English to someone who might not be familiar with kitu kidogo.
