Cumar Maxamud and Sacad share a 200 km border running east from Galkacyo to the ocean. The border is a bit weird in that Sacad have some grazing land in the north-east of Galkacyo. This small piece of land is important to both clans because it is one of the few places in Mudug where you have water that is not heavy in mineral. It is a great place to build watering stations. Ever since the end of the civil war, the Cumar Maxamud have expanded into this territory and have taken over much of the wells and land of the Sacad. Recently, Cumar Maxamud have built a large diameter borehole in the area called Jeexdin and have also reached out to the Dir who live along their border in the far east. The Sacad are unable to actually go to war in those areas because Cumar Maxamud have built two large FOBs in the east. So they attack road construction crews instead.
That ladies and gentlemen is why they are shelling the homes of civilians.

I have no info of galkacyo situation but from what I heard from likely neutral people that caydiid and yeey have reached a peaceful agreement about the town like the airport wich is more on the southren side...as HG were busy on the south, mj have expanded more on their side where the former SNA bases were located like xerada daraawiishta

So they r saying that its mj who have broken the old agreement like the airport and r trying to expand more...

As HG now is back as a state, this causes problems for pl domination. they expect the situation to change in one year.

There is no threat to HG from the south. They have had 15 years to change the situation, but we just kept on building.
They are being outmaneuvered and are retaliating by attacking civilians instead of the military base.

In the Eastern part of Mudug you no longer have any real border with Sacad hence there is no land grabbing going on there. South Jariban District is now mainly Saleeban Cabdalla Surres so are parts of North Hobyo district adjacent to Afbarwaaqo/Ceel Dhanane. The settlement patterns of North-East Mudug changed after the Civil War; areas that were mixed are now divided along clan lines.

Sacad have less to lose from any war in Gaalkacyo because they do not have much invested in the urban area of the district. Most of their money is down in Mogadishu. It will be a war of attrition where the city and its inhabitants will be the biggest losers.

Zumaale, I have nothing against beesha Surre but to say that Cabdi Cisse do not inhabit South Jariban is a stretch. The area is not urbanized at all and is almost 70% reer guura. You can even find Reer Mahad south of Garacad.

kaalay ma geed hoostis bey sacad jiiftaan soo guryo kuma laho magaalada? both sides will lose if a full blown war happens (infrastructure wise) . So it is in their best interest to respect each, they don't have to like each other or integrate together, but mutual respect is needed

What I was trying to bring to your attention was that the Sacaad and Saleeban Cabdallas do not interact hence why Sacad Geeljires do not venture further North into Jariban District as they would have to cross through S/A territory. As a result, Cumar Maxamud and Sacads no longer have much interactions in that part of Mudug.

S/Cabdallas and Cumar Maxamuds cohabitate peacefully and I do not disagree with you that our camels will cross paths in different parts of Jariban District. Geeljires will travel anywhere as long as peace prevails in a particular region. However, there is a trend whereby our settlements are mainly in the South whilst yours are mainly in the Centre and North of the District.

The Puntland side is bigger. Gaalkacyo was of secondary economic impirtance for Sacad until the late 2000's.

Peace is in the interest of both because it will escalate into a HG/Majeerten conflict if shit gets serious and neither will be able to oust the other one out in my opinion. Both have access to arms and money.

There is no HG, it's just Sacad, I have spoken to my adeer who is the main guy leading the difaac, even during 90's war in Gaalkacyo at the heigh of HG union it was just sacad, there has never been a HG gurmad during the dozen conflicts going back to the 1900's, its Sacad Vs Whole of Bintland as it always has been, in-fact last 15 years it was just 1 jufo within Sacad that fought by itself.

Most of Saleeban's heavy weaponary are all in the hands of pirates ina gafaaje & ina afweeyne, the few cars they have remaining guard cadaado, ceyr troops is not even part of Galmudug they Ahlu sunnah fraction, Marexaan troops caabudwaaq & also split, the rest are all occupied by al-shabab, if it was HG by itself rest assured the whole of Garowe would be burning tonight.

This conflict is beyond Galkayo, it's about up holding the Federal Constitution, which clearly says only two or more regions of the original 18 Somali regions can form a Federal State. Hutus have been asked to respectfully and peacefully to respect the rule of law and they have ignored it. Now it will be enforced by force, the Federal Constitutional tanks are rolling all the way to Ceelbuur, anyone who stands in the way will be level to the ground.
