In Somaliland any where west of hargeisa is galbeed. But generally All isaaqs harti (dhulos + warsangeli) samaron and ciise are considered reer waqooyi by the rest of Somaliweyn.

Djibouti is a diferent country man they r called reer djibouti...somalia is located in the south east when your in djibouti but of course they have more in common with the adjacent north somalia

Reer Woqoyie is are all those who speak the galbeed accent. Cisse are culturally reer woqoyie. Although they have culturally influenced quite a lot by the Cafar and Arabs.

Thus the word woqoyi describes the western regions of Somali inhabited areas, not the actual north.

Generally, jigjiga, hargeysa, djibouti and buhoodle sound the same but djibouti is a progressive region...north has tribal mechanisms....its like comparing yemen to tunis.

More than 50% of Djiboutians hails from Somaliland including the issa. the political system and the invironment is different but the people are exactly the same.

In lebanon, egypt and djibouti they got this programme funded by the world bank where they invest in women....djibouti has allocated for these women who want to work about $5m

Politics, djibouti has political elites or political class like pakistan, india...politics r dominates by the same old families like guuleed and geele, hasnaa bahdoun

In waqooyi its all about clans...yes these families have tribes but they r now political elites besides they dont talk about it publically

AishaWaqooyi is from DJibouti, so she can tell us if DJibouti is regarded as part of "Waqooyi".

I remember Aisha saying, "waar kooraankii baa ka tegey quartier trois maaha, sidaas baan SNET uga maqnaa laba casho. Kooraan baanan haysan maaha"

The daughter of this Somali oday from miyiga (baadiye) was married by a guy from Djibouti. After a year in the marriage, the father of pride went to DJibouti to see his daughter and her husband. After he stays with them for awhile, he decided to head back home. He asked his son-in-law, when I come back in the future, how can I cross the border? The son-in-law responded to his father-in-law, "waar haddaad soo noqotid, gandermarieguna hooyadaa bu ku wasi maaha, policekuna aabahaa bu ku wasi maaha."

Unbelievable!

Basically, the son-in-law did not want his father-in-law to come back because every time the old man comes back, he has to come up financial resources to send him back home. So, he was basically telling him the gendermarie and police will really abuse/hurt him if he comes back.

Apparently, the reer DJibouti way of telling people that you will be hurt is "waa lagu wasi maaha" ileen tan oo kale!
