Could it be explained from religious perspectives? Perhaps preparation for that day?

Perhaps it could be explained scientifically?

How can it be explained religiously?? In Quran-- I doubt the weather was ever mentioned unless it involved Prophet Nuh pbuh in a boat with many animals, the wave of the sea so strong, or Prophet Musa pbuh splitting the sea open. That's it. We never read about thunder storm nights or a heat wave. Of course, there is Famine in Egypt, no rain, but that is understandable as Egypt is deserty!
