Large plots of lands needs to be farmed if any money is to be made. Securing a water source is the first step that needs to be done by damming seasonal rivers and storing all that water in reservoirs. This will allow for irrigation year round producing more yields and if there is a rain shortage in a given year the farms can tap into the underground water to supplement for the difference. I have no doubt we can feed ourselves with our current small population and even export to Djibouti and the Gulf countries. That is hundreds of millions of dollars that will stay in the country while generating revenue.

In a time of global warming, lifestock farming is really stupid. Livestock are expensive to maintain and need a lot of land, water and food. Land you could be using to farm dry climate, arid-resistant crop. Somaliland should be exploiting it's fish/sea resources instead of this useless nomadic hustle that has cost us development and civilisation. Right now you have hundreds of Iranian, Yemeni, Chinese, Czech etc fishing vessels taking advantage of the huge marine resources that the Zoomalis are just ignoring.

Nowadays meat can be artificially grown in labs and in the next few decades, more advanced nations will start developing more cost-effective and environmentally friendly ways to produce food, stearing away from lifestock farming to agrofarming and greenhouse produce.

Somaliland needs to invest in small solar/wind energy plants (Somaliland is one of the windiest regions in Africa) to power abbatoirs and frozen meat/fish storage compartments near the coast - as well as packaging facilities.

Seasonal rivers need to be dammed and rain-water should be caught and stored in underground reservoirs and sand dams. Huge volumes of water is lost every year because the people are too simple and lazy and the government is useless. Then, before the year is even out, they complain about massive droughts and water shortage problems. :mindblown:
