Desert in Somalia

Post by Strategic »

in 1960s,places like Mudug & Galgaduud one could find trees,Today they are full blown deserts barren wastelands and when the rain comes only this time they transform it into savannah like area.few patches of bari in PL are trees, the rest of the area is saxaro.
Hiiraan is experiencing desert status in 2060,i am predicting hiiraan will be semi-desert.there is massive defrostration bussiness in jubba regions that googlemap can show you and hardly know body talks about,in lower shabelle the basket of food for somalia is already 1/3 arid semi-desert spreading like wildfire.
This is Bakool in 2008 Image
in Sl,majority is aird semi-desert and only when the rains arrive you see greenery.
do you have personally anyplan to plant trees in your ancestral town or your favorite city,i am planning to plant 200 trees in adale coastal city to make it go green etc IN israel jewish state, they have a plant a tree day, what a partiotic nation.
Strangely bay region and middle shabelle are doing fine, even in war torn mogadishu, every family must plant atleast two trees and the more affluent they are the more trees they plant.

Its deforestation, global warming and Somalis cutting down trees to make Dhuxul.

Look at Israel, they literally made the desert green. We need to do the same and fight it, before it reaches our major cities.

That would be something for the relative authorities to organise and encourage.
Have you heard of or watched the documentary called Yacoubi Sawadogo The Man Who Stopped The Desert.I watched it on the African Channel. All he had was a shovel and axe and he managed to turn hectares of desert lush green. Here is a little article about him.Initialy everybody thought he was mad, but know even the UN consults him in these matters

Muslims don't need to fight drought , its "Allah's will" if rain fails ( due to the obvious desertification) just don't worry pray "salaat Al-Istiqsaa" or the prayer of water drinking . bingo, fixed.

there are no salat called 'salat al-istiqsaa' صلاة الاستقصاء. it is called 'salat al-istisqaa' صلاة الاستسقاء. ilahow ha na gaaleynin.
