Tanzanian, Kenyan, Ethiopian, Eritrean, Nigerian, Senegalese,etc cuisines all have many unique dishes.
The only Somali food that is truly ours is Muqmad.

But what is Somali food?

Lahoh is Yemeni
Baasto is Italian
Somali rice is Arab/Asian
Sambusa is Asian
Sabaayad is indian

The reason for this is because before colonization, all Somalis used to eat were Caano iyo Hilib Geel.

Yemeni don't make it the same way as us so it's a different dish. All food cultures overlap, very few countries have their own original cuisines.

You must come from a miyi background, somali rice is nothing like Asian. I have seen many asians or arabs admire somali rice at weddings and say it's better than theirs.

Laxoox is pure somali. Somali sabayaad is nothing like indian chappati.

So there are thousands of species of rice in the world and they're all Asian?
