these are the small unit that protects puntland state president. they only difference between them and Somaliland's Ciidanka madaxtooyada are the helmet. Ciidanka madaxtooyada are small unit selected from Somaliland's Duubcas unit they usually wear red beret.

You mean at 2:35?
They're probably a special unit within PL.
Like RRU in Somalialnd, no way a police could have such heavy gear.

I gotta say, am very impressed by PL army.
Aside from few slips here and there, looks very professional for a poorly funded army.

Red beret military uniform is an international . we call it duubcas in af Somali. The duubcas were the strongest Somaliland army unit before the Birmad unit (RRU+CTU+SPU). In the early 2000s land disputes in the cities where major problem in Somaliland. at that time the police where very weak even the government was not able to pay any compensation if the police kill people. The duubcas where the only effective unit they had more vehicles and more firepower on top of that they were not locally known because most military personal comes from all over the country. the duubcas had the freedom to kill local men and get away with it. No one knows who killed who lool.

They can dress up those poor middle aged men in 3 layers of bullet proof vests, never in their history did that region produce war-ready soldiers. It would have been wise for them to look at their cousins the Dhulbahante for conscripts.

Otherwise its more of the same shit:
