It is great news alhamdulila. Somalia needs major projects like this that can truly bring about progress.gedo_gurl wrote:This airport or runway is bigger than Mogadishu airport. It's good news all round. I'm really pleased that Xassan Sheeq cut the ribbon, an excellent sign. Long Live Somalia.
Your right turkey actaully own that airport and showed of as much with their flags everywhere and making the place like as if your in Turkey. They're also taking all profit for the airport for next 10 years I believe.gedo_gurl wrote:It's really great. I like how China didn't hog the whole airport like Turkey did in Mogadishu. The banners were there to celebrate/mark the opening and not a permanent fixture like in Xamar. It's so much more dignified for us.
They'll take half the profit for 20 years I heard which is equal to 10 years of full profit. It's much much better than nothing at all but I do wish that Turkey will calm those flags down in a couple of years and just rake it in with humility. They purchased huge grounds for their embassy in a very strategic, historic location. Add the schools, hospital, housing and the port and you'll realise they basically bought Xamar. Al Shabaab and the warlords before them got us so scared, on our knees that we did anything to gain stability.Somaliman% wrote:Your right turkey actaully own that airport and showed of as much with their flags everywhere and making the place like as if your in Turkey. Whereas this chinese company built the airport which was funded by Italy and local businessmen. It's a somali airport and will benefit the somali people.
