LooL this is Cold War 2.0 all over again. The Russians, because of their paranoia about Nato, US, the west are once again going to bankrupt themselves.
I also read that interview with the German news paper BILD, where Putin accused 'people on the otherside of the Atlantic' fermenting trouble at his back yard.

You have to understand, NATO isn't forcing anyone to join them. These countries are doing it on their own. And most of them have lived under the iron curtain for 50+ years.
These countries are running away from Russia and want to align themselves with the west.
If u ask most Somalis back home, if they would like to goto Middle east, Africa or western countries...i am sure majority would choose the west.
There is no conspiracy. These countries want to integrate with the west and want no part of Russia.
Putin considers the former Ex Soviet states as part of his sphere of influence and doesn't want them integrating with the EU.
