I never knew ineey Soomaalidu diyaaradaha af duubi jireen!!

Post by TheLoFather »

Three Somali soldiers, armed with sub-machine guns and grenades, hijacked the aircraft and directed the flight to Addis Ababa (ADD), Ethiopia where they released some passengers and crewmembers.
The hijackers demanded the release of 14 political prisoners jailed in Somalia and stays of execution for seven men in Somali jails. After 75 hours of negotiations, the hijacking ended on November 27. One of the demands was met in that the stay of execution was granted. The hijackers were granted political asylum.

I know two of the seven who were sentenced to be executed. One of them just for carrying pro SNM literature. And they would have if the SNM hadn't broken into Mandheera prison to release them. Those guys highjacked that airplane to bring the attention of the world to the injustices committed by Afwayne's regime against the people in the north. The irony is Awil died in Hargeisa outside Gargaar hotel while drinking a cup of tea,hit by a stray bullet during SL tumultuous days in the mid 90's

The plane was from Mogadishu on its way to Jeddah via Berbera, when it was taken control off.

It was done by the SNM.

The seven sentenced to death by Siad Barre regime were students and their ages were between 16-18. They were sentenced in Hargeisa.

SNM didn't mess around.

If my memory serves me right, I think the only time ever been to outside hargeysa (during xagaa bax) was to madheera prison visiting one of those students sentence to death. Mid aan habro wadaag nahay oo tukaan lagala dhex baxay then sentence to dil! That was in 85. I think.
