What a play!!!!
Earlier tonight I watched video of a somali play "Hablayahoow hadmaad guursan doontaa" and I cried.
The play is set somewhere in somalia and starred Harawo, Saado, Faynuus and Hibo Nuur . Very beautiful somali women untouched by wahabism. Simply the best.
The cast included Aw kuku (very funny guy), a transexual guy ( I think his name is Huraaye), Berdilaacshe and Mecaad Migane and Salaad Cali Barakow Buulow.
Beautiful and breathtaking songs ( when the three women sing). Saado is the player (she loves a man who rocks with her -rook iyo jaaz ila tunta), Harawo loves money and Hibo is a down to earth woman!!!
I imagine that this video is from 1980;S when somalis were free from wahabism and when our culture was enriched.
Have you watched the video????
A must for anyone interested in somali culture.

Boo, aren't you against the arabization of islam? Aren't you against the sick philosophy of wahabism (hatred, suicide bombings, honor killings etc)?
Qansa, I really liked the riwaayad. It had everything one would like to see in a movie (plot, songs, beauty, beasts, homor).
Mizz killa, I love the part where Harawo caresses the old man and says XAAJIGA, XAAJIGOW, LACAG KEEN! and
The songs by Saado/Berdilacshe and Hibo!
Intellex, do you want to me to belittle you????

Qudhac, yes, all somali riwaayads were good but something is happening to our people/culture these days. It seems that wahabism is fighting our culture.
I have a tape (only songs) of qabrigii jaceylka... Qabrigii jaceylkoow quraankaan ...
I met the man who sung that song (Salaad Mohamed shardi-derbi) a few months and I think the woman who sung is seynab cige..
Is that right????
