Is there hope for Somalia?

Post by Sowda12 »

Hey,

I was watching this Youtube video of Somalia, and it looked so beautiful. One of the comments was;
"Wow, these people were rich back then. Richer and better looking than the US"

Walahi, Somalia back then looked so beautiful.

My question is; Do you think Somalia will be able to go back to what it used to be soon enough?

every one waiting Somalia to be peaceful again to return but who will make it peaceful? some things come from sky to make it happen?

I care about poor people who are stuck there and do not have way to migrate to the west to better themselves and get opportunities.

I understand. I will pray for them, Insha'allah.

Maybe. Just maybe. However, in won't be anytime soon. We won't be alive to see if it happens.

If Somalia is stable by the end of 2016 then there is hope. Ofcourse Qabyaalad is the biggest problem and I don't know how we can eliminate this shit. maybe by force? if force ever worked. Make that shit illegal and jail anyone practising it.

I agree. But, I am mostly worried about the leader\president. It all starts there...we need a strong, intelligent, leader who is not corrupt. And also these terrorist\Al-shabab is a huge problem in Somalia.. How can we get rid of them?

Koonfurians like to reminisce on the good old pre-war days, and they do so by looking back on old photos and footage of just one city. Not unlike what would happen to a future North Korean who (say following a devastating North-South war) would pull out youtube videos showing how well built and orderly Pyongyang used to be! Oh, the streets were so clean and people looked very happy.

Somalia was a single city dictatorship. The living conditions for much of the rest of the country are not all that different to what you see today save for clan-warfare/terrorism.

I am not from South Somalia, and even if I was, why would that be relevant? Take your cuqdaad and hatred somewhere else.
Somalia back then was way better than Somalia has been from 1991-2016. We all can see this. Take your nonsense somewhere else, and dont comment on my thread ever again unless you are actually answering my question. :ufdup:

I honestly don't know. A lot of people are suspecting that the Ethiopians are working with Al-Shabab and trying so hard to destabilize the country. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not but I believe someone, if not Ethiopia, is preventing Somalia from stabilizing. The only true ally seems to be Turkey now.

2016 will be the most important year for Somalia though. Things can go two ways for Somalia. Let's pray it's the good way

I saw a thread someone posted about it yesterday, and it makes sense. We do have a lot of enemies, some of them are our neighbors, but at the end of the day it is our country and it's up to us to fix the mess we made. Somalia is a great country with huge potential. Hopefully, things will get better in 2016. I will continue praying, Insha'allah.
