They will loose business if they stopped @ Hargeysa. The trashy airlines that were not so popular will become appealing to travelers

They already cancelled the flights to xamar they are stationed in djibouti now, and mostly likely they will choose berbera over hargeysa, so don't be madd be glad.

From what i read it is a "temporary" decision Turkey airlines took. Goodluck to them if they do decide on Hargeysa.

I didn't believe it only because it doesn't make sense from economic perspective to change base to Hargeysa. The numbers are just not there.

Safety over numbers.

What is the economic sound of losing $330m plane over $50k profit from Xamar?

There is no business in Mogadishu. It is just that Turkey had grand plans in Africa and Mogadishu was the stepping stone but now Turkish economy is no longer stellar. The Russian sanctions are killing them. Kurds are giving them major headache. Iran is out off isolation.

Turkey is now in a survival mode of its own. They no longer have the money they used to throw around Africa.
Terrorism and Russian sanctions have left Turkey’s already struggling economy bracing for the worst.

Tourism seems sure to take hit, analysts say, after a suicide bomber aligned with Islamic State (IS) blew himself up in a crowd of German tourists this week, killing 10. German tourists make up roughly 15 percent of Turkey’s tourism industry, which earns the country $34 billion annually.
No doubt Turkey will either halt or back track from its plans in Africa. It no longer has the cash and domestic issues are getting out off control. We may see the Kemalians come back to power and they prefer the West over Muslim and African states.

Obviously Turkish Airlines have not seen bosaso airport if they're selecting Hargeisa or Barbara.

Bosaso 3.4 long modern airport would be amazing for Turkish Airlines. Very safe and secure no qarxis then from there everyone can fly to their destinations including xamar and Hargeisa. Great opportunity for somalias best airport.

Perhaps you didn't know work is still going on at bosaso airport and the Chinese company is extending the airport from 2.4 to 3.4 as well brand new terminal. This was the original plan. Ka Naax
