Even with the rampant killings of witches and the unending stories of people eating grass or being stuck with stolen property, the belief that witchcraft can be used to secure property with tangible evidence has often been dismissed int he mainstream.

However, the recent case in Teso sub-county could well change that perception. A business man in the area had been fed up with frequent cases of theft at his home until a friend pin pointed him to a certain traditional doctor with the ability to ensure whoever came to steal his property returned.

When he lost his television he went to the doctor and the doctor did his stuff and voila, a man who had stolen the TV was found with the television stuck on his head. Attempts to work it off proved futile and for 4 straight hours the man was moving around with the heavy set on his head.

The traditional doctor had to be reached and when he showed up he took the thief to his hut, again did his abracadabra stuff and the television set came off. The victim was still in a stupor unable to know what had happened. The doctor decided to milk his moment in the limelight by offering his services to the security organs interested.
