arabs have a proverb: كلوا مثل الاخوان و تحاسبوا مثل التجار
meaning : eat like brothers and reckon like traders,
this proverb comes from the people who use such term as الدولة الشقيقة a sister states,i.e, there are issues and times this fraternal feeling is not objective at all, especially when one of your soldiers is shot dead defending our borders.
about the dead Soldier (aun) I don't know exactly what led to that tragic end.
Two statements in two different time will help ,hopefully, you to understand there is no love lost between the two states:
1-
First statement: Late president Egal of the Republic of Somaliland in 2000, source BBC Africa:
"That little country, Djibouti, aspires to rule the whole of the Horn of Africa. It aspires to have its own opinions and wishes imposed upon countries that are 1,000 times bigger than it", he said.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with jabuuti aspiring to have a great influence in the horn. That's basics and any country in that part of the world would rather be the one that influences changes rather than been influenced. So I see no issue with that. Am Sure Somaliland hopes and dreams for the future are not confined to merely getting recognition.
"Somalis are ready for peace. They are fed up of all the bloodshed. But they don't want to be imposed upon by one man, President Ismail Omar Guelleh, from a mini country, whom nobody knows", President Egal added.

2-
Second statment: Ismail Omar Guelleh, president of the Republic of Djibouti in 2011, source Jeune Afrique.
Jeune Afrique: Now that Southern Sudan gained its independence, isn’t it to turn your neighbor Somaliland?
Ismail Omar Guelleh: It is not entirely comparable. South Sudan has reached this result after a long and difficult dialogue with the North. The Somaliland dilemma is different, and I fear they have put the cart before the horse. They hoist their flag unilaterally declared independence and that they no longer discuss. I respect, I accept their passports and their representation in Djibouti. But I can not go further. They were too busy. I told them.
I don't know what to make of that. Maybe he feared his little port will be abandoned if Somaliland gain recognition rendering xeebta insignificant. Or maybe as a politician his concerned with his country first and foremost and everything else is secondary. At the end of the day Somali politicians are known to make comments that offends other Somalis and it's not something that Somaliland is innocent of. It was only recently where Somali from south fleeing yemen were at the receiving end of shameful treatment.
I don't think Somaliland need to have jabuuti as an "official enemy". I don't think they can afford it. Cool heads need to prevail and they should know that salaad walba wakhtigeeda la tukada. In other words, they have more to loose today than Djibouti would if things escalate (God forbid). I doubt yhey can juggle, khatumo, Ethiopia (who I believe is the number one enemy of somali in general, and any tension between jabuuti and sl will only benefit them) and jabuuti. At the end of the day it will come down to the quality if Somaliland politicians and their decisions.

I rather make excuses for my fellow Somali than be reduced to a filthy XABASHA'S BIT ON THE SIDE.GubanOgoHawdJSL wrote:Ethiopia never kilt one of our soldiers or our people how could it be enemy and not djibouti stop lying to yourself hypocrites always get desperate for a excuse.
This is biggest upset for somaliland and its djibouti fault for aggression it took into its hands against our dacad soldiers that never expected ambush attack from their own brothers filthy snake french african slaves from jabooty.
Like we say in america "actions are louder than words" and "the proof is in the pudding" djibouti choose to be enemy while ethiopia still hasn't done anything wrong against the nation you can't compare apples to oranges it doesn't work like that trust in djibouti is completely lost now, your worst enemy is your brother even the frist homicide recorded in history was between two brothers, so djibouti better watch their backs from now on its shoot or be killed and we will get our revenge in this life or hereafter.jalaaludin5 wrote:I rather make excuses for my fellow Somali than be reduced to a filthy XABASHA'S BIT ON THE SIDE.GubanOgoHawdJSL wrote:Ethiopia never kilt one of our soldiers or our people how could it be enemy and not djibouti stop lying to yourself hypocrites always get desperate for a excuse.

Action does speak louder than words, indeed. But the action that led to the tragic lost of life of a Soldier can never be compared to the unholy and insulting influence ethiopia have over sl. You are complaining and crying over a pinprick while you ignore a focking tumour that already stimulated the majority of your blood vessels and is now growing without a hitch.GubanOgoHawdJSL wrote:Like we say in america "actions are louder than words" and "the proof is in the pudding" djibouti choose to be enemy while ethiopia still hasn't done anything wrong against the nation you can't compare apples to oranges it doesn't work like that.jalaaludin5 wrote:I rather make excuses for my fellow Somali than be reduced to a filthy XABASHA'S BIT ON THE SIDE.GubanOgoHawdJSL wrote:Ethiopia never kilt one of our soldiers or our people how could it be enemy and not djibouti stop lying to yourself hypocrites always get desperate for a excuse.

We should deal directly with eritrea to start new afar rebel movement in djibouti.

you must be living under a rock this not zoomalia where ethiopian troops roam randomly stop mixing up the two ethiopia has never invaded or violated somaliland territory it has stayed neutral in all events your delusional hate for xabashi people has blinded you from the current events that took place djibouti has directly violated somaliland sovereignty by crossing into its water and killing a soldier don't complain about spilled milk it's too late for that no one to blame but the gapping shithole jabooty.jalaaludin5 wrote: Action does speak louder than words, indeed.
