Unity
Asalaamu Calaykum
As you guys know, Somalis have a lot of hate for each other. Even though they are the most homogeneous people in Africa. 1 language, 1 religion and 1 culture. But still we fight and swear at each other. Most modern countries have evolved from tribalism. They have abolished this because they know it won't do good for their people. Only divide them. Look at the Somalis of today. We do not even number 30 million, and yet we have so many different countries, Somalia, Somaliland, Djibouti, Puntland, Jubbaland, NFD, Ogadenia etc. To what purpose? It has made us weak, If Ethiopia where to attack us, who would defend us? Strength is in unity. I believe that tribalism cannot be controlled, that we are better off without it. Anyone think the same?

Re: Unity
Somali can't unite, we are different races with different ideologies (isaaq, darod, hawiye, dir, raxanweeyn, bantu) we have nothing in common. We share religion with 1.5bn people don't mean we should unite.
We must respect each others races

Re: Unity
I was just watching a video on my facebook timeline, a scuffle between djbouty and somaliland where one officer died, a lot of war mongering in the comments, I doubt there will be any unity in our geneation.

3. How do you propose we achieve this wonderful unity from the current situation Somali in general is in?

That's the problem, We should not insult each other. They could say the same for us, that the English fuc**** our brains up. but that is not the way.mahoka wrote:Reer Koonfur are the problem. The Italians fucked them in the brain.
Progress is only made when all parties respect each other.

2- I have the flag to show people were i am from
3- Unity is not achieved in a day, we may not even see it in our time, but we can start the process so our children and their children can live in a better place. I think Islam is key to Somali unity because it has united us before and it will Insha Allah unite us again.
Re: Unity
What are you talking about? How are Somalis different races. We all share the same blood. Are you even Somali?mahoka wrote:Somali can't unite, we are different races with different ideologies (isaaq, darod, hawiye, dir, raxanweeyn, bantu) we have nothing in common. So maybe you should start from where you from and see how many feel the same way.InaJacfar wrote:1- I am Isaaqjalaaludin5 wrote:1. What qabiil is you?

What would you say are the number of people who wouldn't shoot you on sight at the mere mention of UNITY?
How would you sell such idea to a growing generation that only know Somaliland?
I for one, and as Djiboutian would rather have Djibouti remain as it is.
Just like in prayer where all stand shoulder to shoulder (all individuals) but with a common purpose, so can Somaliland, Djibouti and Somalia can stand alone with a common goal of partnership, good neighbourly living in peace.
Or is it the fact that we are African that such notion is laughable and a mere phantasy?

Re: Unity
I understand that you want Djibouti to remain as it is, I am not saying that we all should join together as one nation. But we should talk about establishing relations. As it is, The Somali leaders won't even talk to each other. That is how far we have fallen. And you are telling the truth about the people not wanting unity. When i was in Hargeysa, People would swear at you for even mentioning unity. But that doesn't mean it isn't possible. A lot of Unions have been created this way. And Insha Allah it will grow and when the Somali people are ready for it we will unite.jalaaludin5 wrote:So maybe you should start from where you from and see how many feel the same way.InaJacfar wrote:1- I am Isaaqjalaaludin5 wrote:1. Just remember that those that fan the flame of hate in an endless pursuit of division are more determine and never sleep, so good luck.
