cities and towns located in Northern Somalia have seen tremendous progress in the past decade or so thanks mainly to the close proximity to Ethiopia, Berbera's deep port and the Gulf States.

Well, Somalia has three large ports. Mogadishu, Berbera and Kismaayo. Mogadishu and Kismaayo pretty much supply the entire Southern regions of Somalia. However, with the terrorism and clan wars that have ravaged parts of Southern Somalia, Berbera and Boosaaso played a major role in supplying North-Western, North-Eastern and some parts of the Central regions of the country, from Awdal to Mudug and Galgudud. Not to mention, Berbera supplies Ethiopia and that's one of the reasons the Amhara and the Oromo would like to see the status quo continue in Somalia's fragmentation. They use Somalia's Berbera, Boosaaso and Mogadishu ports freely without any regulations whatsoever.blood wrote:awdal doesnt need berbera port,it has its own port which it can make millions of dollars.
I think any future Somali reconciliation conferences should be held in Borama. Most of the Somali intellectuals of the past 50 years have all obtained their higher education from Borama one way or another. Borama could play a major role in establishing Somali political unity.inaXasan wrote:dadka Borame they don't hate other Somalis and don't have a lot of cugdad Mashallah
