What a trip!!!

Post by Skippa »

I need to rant for a sec. What follows is a wall of text:

My phone died on me last week. I called up the phone company, ordered up a new one and asked them to ship it to my workplace. They sent it home (bil caani or bil mistake) when nobody was there to receive it. UPS leaves a note and takes the package back to their depot which is futo biciid from where I live. I call them to arrange for it to be rerouted to me at work the next day. They make me pay a premium for the privilege. Fine! let's do it. The delivery guy gets to my workplace and refuses to hand the package to the mailroom. He insists that I personally come down and sign for it. I'm tied up in a meeting at that very moment. Guy says he'll bring it back on his next run and goes home. A day went by without a word. I look it up online and find out that the item is back at the depot with a note that I'm to pick it up within 3 business days before it goes back to the sender. We're on the eve of Easter weekend...I reluctantly head on over to UPS after work, through a downpour of ice and rain and manage to get there half an hour before closing. The young lady at the desk brings the box out of the back and asks for some ID. "Here's my driver's license". she looks at it, looks at me and asks for something with the same address as the waybill. I'm getting frustrated but I'm trying to keep it together because she appears to have gotten the gig a week ago and partly because some indian dude next to me is screaming from the top of his lungs "THAT'S A LIE, I WAS THERE ALL DAY, MY WIFE WAS THERE ALL DAY, THE DELIVERY GUY DID NOT COME". The UPS lady that's helping him can't get a word in "Sir, it says here that we made an attempt and that no one was home" the indian guy "THAT'S A LIE, WHERE IS THE TRUCK NOW???" "Sir, given the bad weather, the truck may not get here during regular business hours. I can add a note for the item to be held for pick up Monday" "IMPOSSIBLE!! I AM GOING TO MONTREAL FOR THE WEEKEND, I NEED TO TAKE THIS PARCEL WITH ME, WHERE IS YOUR SUPERVISOR" "Sir, I'm the manager". Me in my head "Sucks to be him but he deserves it, doqonka xun ee bilaa dabeecada ah".

I tell the pretty young lady that "The address on the waybill is that of my place of employment. I don't have a piece of ID that has that address but I have a business card"...hand her the card with the office address.I ask her to check the previous delivery address and she'll see that it matches the one on my license. She says she has to run it by her manager, who's still going back and forth with indian guy...10 minutes later indian guy gives up and leaves, dejected and empty handed. My turn...The manager is not in the mood, she doesn't even let the young girl finish the question before she waives her off and says that it's the sender who placed the conditions on releasing the item and that she couldn't do anything about it. I think to myself, "I can get into a wrestling match with this butch lady, leave in frustration, drive angry all the way home and risk getting into an accident or I could spare myself the trouble and have them deliver it to me on the monday". I wimp out and opt for the Monday delivery (yesterday).

Yesterday now and the package is finally delivered. Wixii cusuba caalankaa jecel and I'm excited to finally have it in hand. I take it home and play with it for a bit (restoring texts, contacts etc...) I notice that the device is a bit warm though I am not doing anything out of the ordinary. I put it away for a bit, go back to it and decide to charge it. Some time later, the thing is unbearably hot, like it's about to go off. I unplug it and shut it off. This morning, I call the phone company and tell them about my concerns. Did they send me a lemon? They ask that I take it to any of their stores for a diagnosis. There happens to be a store by the workplace. I get there early in the morning and ask them to have a look at it. They ran it through its paces or whatever and tell me that they couldn't determine the issue but that they've asked for a new phone to be sent to me. I could keep the lemon in the meantime and return it in a UPS sleeve with a prepaid label that they're sending with the new phone. Fast forward to this afternoon and I get a call from the company. The phone was turned off so it went to voicemail. The message is that the type of phone I want is on "back order" and that they're sending me a temporary one. They give me the choice between a couple of phones and ask that I call them back to confirm which one I'd like. I got home at around 5:30 and call them up...I was on hold for no less than 45 minutes before I got through to a belligerent young man with a dull voice. I give him the coles notes version of my long run of issues. He repeats every other sentence, slowly, as if talking to a child. He finally tells me that he's putting me through to their "Buyer's remorse department" (his exact words). f-king Guy, How do I have buyer's remorse when I'm the one that's being put out and inconvenienced and I'm still coming back for more...Here I am again, sitting through countless tracks of muzak and maghrib is around the corner. The same guy finally gets back on and tells me that he has good news. he says that, upon further review, it was actually a lady from the president's office who had left me the message earlier in the afternoon and that he'll be happy to expedite the shipping of the temporary phone as soon as I tell him which one I want. At this point, It doesn't even matter any more. Whichever one I get, I'll keep it for a week or so, come down with a sudden case of buyer's remorse and return it back to them. I'll make sure to cancel the 2 wireless services I have with them by the same token

When I wanna use the internet , I use a computer and when I wanna make a phone call , I use one in which the only smart part of it is me .

Waa runtaa sheeikhow...There are a couple of main companies that operate where I'm at and they're like a cartel. Mines been trying to bump me off a little grandfathered plan that I've been holding on to for a few years. Every time I upgrade, the same song and dance

My cousin Skippa,salut!

I've had my fare share of "the computer says no"
beauracratic twats. The thing is once it's on the phone and not in person the ball is in their court
So all we can do is rant and rave, while they're laughing their head whilst holding the phone away from their ear.
Like someone else said avoid buying online unless its absolutely necessary

Dhaandhaankii shalay pissed me off to no end, talkin' about "Buyer's remorse". His mom should've had buyer's remorse when he came out. Al qasti, I had to bitch for a minute but waa wax aan loo noqon doonin
