This brings up an interesting point. As more Somalis come online from back home, how would this change the dynamics of everything.
Before it was just Somalis in the US who had access to the Internet, and then Canadians, followed by UK and Europe.
Now more Somalis are logging in from Africa, Arabaha and from Somalia.

Actually, there is already a big and growing population of non western Somalis (African & Arab) on the internet. Most don't speak English so you can't find them venturing deeper into the internet more than Somali news sites or social media especially Facebook, and to a lesser extent instagram and Snapchat. There is also a very big community on Youtube. most non-music Somali videos get 50K - 100K views while more and more Somali music videos are getting 1+ Million views. the highest having 4M+ views.GAMES wrote:This brings up an interesting point. opening a solely Somali language forum similar to snet and somalionline for these Somalis is an extremely good Idea right now. these people are stuck on fb and have no place to expand into

How things will change?? Western Somalis will be a minority online soon since we have a bigger population than y'all. no more rep-ing Somalis on the net

Western Somalis also have an ugly reputation online and have tarnished our image with constantly trolling Nigerian and other foreign forums insulting and angering poor people. It is our time to shine and set things straight

Re: What countries people visit SNet from.
Ina Xasan, where are you from? And where did you learn to speak and write English? Just curious.
Re: What countries people visit SNet from.
Also, if u count the Somalis in North America, Western Europe and Australia, they are probably close to 1 million. But i am not sure.

I'm Somali Kenyan. In Kenya the school system is in English so most people speak English very well.GAMES wrote:Ina Xasan, where are you from? And where did you learn to speak and write English? Just curious.

I still find it hard to believe that Qasayee isn't some dhaqan celis kid who got sent bk to Mogadishu, as oppose to someone who has never been to the West.
I mean his understanding of the English language is even better than Games who can't differentiate between "woman" and "women".

Re: What countries people visit SNet from.
Yes. 1 million is probably correct but there is also 1 million Somalis in Arabaha alone. In Africa (if you remove Kenya) I'd say there is another 1 million scattered across the continent.GAMES wrote:Also, if u count the Somalis in North America, Western Europe and Australia, they are probably close to 1 million. No one is talking about the actual population though. I was talking about the population of internet users/how many people are active on the internet. Now most Somalis on the Net are Westerners but in a few years the will be caught up to by the growing number of non-western Somali users. They will eventually be passed since the numbers don't favor them. 1M in Arab, 1M in Africa and the Millions in Somali occupied countries will obviously produce a larger internet population than the west.

One more question; InaXassan as the the Son of Xassan, or InaXassan as the daughter of Xassan?

Ina meaning Male

this confusion is exactly why I advocate for accents man

female "Ina" is sounds different than male "Ina" but is written the same way. we should write the female one as Iná or Inä or Inâ or whatever to prevent this confusion with male Ina.
Re: What countries people visit SNet from.
son= i'na
daughter= in'a
daughter= in'a
