Somalis for Awdal Drought

Post by Sumubaridi »

Somalis are all bros. In Minnesota, all the masjids helped in collecting money. Everyone that came to our mosque paid $100. We collected $20,000 . Somali gov't and gudiga abaaraha collected $1 million which a baaruud collected today. Somalis are blood brothers. Did walaalaha aynu jaarka nahay ee Tigreey brought anything ?

Hopefully, more funds will be collected. It is true Somalis are blood brothers and should be helping each other.

You know most of that money is going to go to some greedy persons pocket.
That's what always happens.

The sky in Somalia was filled with clouds today, and people back home are very optimistic. Please keep making dua that it will rain soon, as only Allah can cover the needs of our people back home.

The rains will be coming this week. Starting this evening.

The focus should be how to avoid the impact of droughts. I suggest the following:
1. No more mosque building. Ban it. We have enough mosques and mowlacs. Dig wells instead.
2. Food security should be the priority ; subsidize farm produce
3. Improve storage facilities

and much more.

I say keep building mosques in Somalia as they are one of the few places where people receive some form of social services (i.e., charity, awareness, mediation, etc).

If we stop the only institution that is functioning, where are we heading?

I suggest Somalis need to stop fadhikudirir; useless qabyaalad; fight corruption; and spend their resources collectively on real projects that can have an impact on their lives, such as building wells, dams, preventing deforestation, fighting the devastating charcoal trade that is wiping out whatever forest we have left, and commit themselves planting more trees.
