DEADLY FLOODING IN JIGJIGA

So far 23 are confirmed dead while the injured exceeds 84 pple.

There were efforts to lay stones on sidewalks and streety alleys to "beutify" cities in general Ethiopia. This process came to Jigjiga few years ago. Unfortunatley, if you do not have draining system and you cover the land in stones and concrete, you create environment for flash floods.

We actually have draining system i have seen it but i think we should have more.

I havent seen baali gaadhi in jigjiga before but there was plenty of bajaaj, i used to see baali gaadhi in Dire dawa tho.

Ina Iilay's idea of creating channels, widening the depth and width of these "Tog" and or creating diversions during heavy rains is what should be done to prevent future floods.
