Can Reer Harawo folks explain to us where Harawo is? Is this part of Deegaanka Awbare? Also, is the Ciyaar at the end of song Saylici?

So many beautiful girls in the video indeed!

Guhad, salaam sxb. Harawo dee waa Harawo valley, the bread basket of GBs across the border. Its technically part of the Faafaan region, marka Jigjiga xoogaa la soo dhaafo all the way to the border in Awdal, as far as the birta xadiidka in Shiniile region. Waa dhul beero iyo daaqsin iyo xoolaba ilahay ku manaystay.

There has been ambitious plans by the Adan Yonis and Jibril Yonis locals and diaspora to convince the DDSI to declare Harawo plus Dambal district in Shinile as a region of its own, but I guess it has not materialised. A new district has been named recently, a place called Dharwanaaje so this is the inauguration event. Other towns in Harawo are Awbare you mentioned, Lafa Ciise  Xero Geel, Jaarre Shed Dher and so on

Someone need to explain why dharwanaaje is chosen as a degmo and why are they celebrating if harowo valley is not a state seems like ddsi playing games on these people dont trust cagdheers they won't leave you a bread crumb, and exactly when did a farmer trust a geeljire that's a big no no.

Heey Aishah thanks Inabti, yeah I was familiar with Hotel Harowo well before I have heard of the valley, beautiful land though.

@GubanJSL, more districts mean step closer to Harowo being made into a region insha Allah

GB is very important to DDSI because of their strategic locations + they are one of the nasab somalis on earth.

Awbarre is one of the places in DDSI where the big bucks flows in.

When Western travelers used to move from Zeila/Berbera to Harar, they always passed through the Gadabursi country or the Harrawah Valley.

The Harawo region is about the same size when compared to its twin sister neighboring region of Awdal

North from Harar is Harawa Valley.
"The hill-top is surrounded by
parallel retaining walls built of dressed stone, rising in steps
from the bottom. In some places the walls are six or eight feet
high, and there are remains of extensive ancient buildings filling
the enclosure. Surmounting the whole in the centre is the ruin
of a building of cut stone, which appeared to be the sheikh's
tomb.

The position of the Samaw6 ruins would favour a supposition
that some power holding Harar, and having its northern boundary along the hills which wall in the southern side of the Harrawa valley, had built the fort to command the GAwa Pass, which is one of the great routes from the Gadabursi country to the Marar Prairie. On the other hand, the fort may have been built by a power holding the coast, to close the pass on the Harar side.
In front, backed by the dark hills of Harar, lay the Harawwah valley
Here, probably
to commemorate the westward progress of the tribe, the
Gudabirsi Ugaz or chief has the white canvas turband
bound about his brows, and hence rides forth to witness
the equestrian games in the Harawwah Valley
I arose early in the next morning, having been
promised by the Abbans grand sport in the Harawwah
valley. The Somal had already divided the elephants'
spoils : they were to claim the hero's feather, I was to receive two-thirds of the ivory nothing remained to be
done but the killing.

Even the Somali Military during the 1977 reached the town of Harawa.

I'm suprised there used to be elephants there back in the day.
