Say you meet your ex while you walking with your spouse and you greet each other and exchange little pleasantries, would it be ok to tell your wife/husband that "...inanta/ inanka waxaa wax u ah haboyarteey heblaayo oo dalkii joogta"?
Just so that you may avoid awkward questions.

Re: Horta When is permissible to lie to your spouse?
Islamically, I think it is okay and advisable for two reasons:
Number 1: you shouldn't disclose your sins
Number 2: it's gonna cause problems/tension in your marriage so you can lie to keep the peace.
Allahu A'lam.
Personally, I wouldn't tell my hubby nor would I want him to tell me. Nothing good can come out of it. For example, if he tells me, i'm gonna think 'does he think she's better looking than me?' 'does he think she's better in the sack?'
You get my drift.

Re: Horta When is permissible to lie to your spouse?
If there is a dispute between my wife and someone else in the family, then I think it is allowed to lie to them about what the other might be saying behind their back. Meaning that you should convey they were only saying good things behind your back and that they wish to reconcile.
