Walahi that place!! Me and my husband went there one evening last summer. The first thing the lady who was searching me said- eedo meeshaan waa laga tagaa, aaqiro ayaa la aada, maad is asturtid and started lecturing me about my outfit( mind you I was wearing a hijab, long dress and a blazer, arrived there by car to the door and was leaving by car waiting for us.

One thing we both noticed was couples sitting in far far corners covered by huge leaves from trees, so essentially it's was designed for privacy. My husband said ; this place is strange, lets just go. They were recently attacked and I have a feeling the lady who searched me was was an AS sympathizer. I'm almost convinced.

Seriously she was like borderline rude and was literally telling me off for not wearing a jalabiib. When we saw the dodginess going on there with couples hidden everywhere my husband said" i think this place will be attacked sooner or later, there is no way AS let's these things go on. And few months back, they where're attacked big time

As long as you were dressed modestly I don't see the problem.

Imagine Shabab stayed for longer :damn: They were hellbent on Saudising the country with segregated buses...no women working...no places like Mogadishu Peace Garden...no women outside.

That's true, the thing is I was honestly dressed modestly. Like not a tight skirt and a mini hijab. It was a long flowy dress with a big hijab that covered my chest. So her tantrum was completely uncalled for. My husband told her off " eedo adiga oo raali ah, waa xaskeeyga, labiskeedena raali aniga ka ah, waxba ma qaldan e dhaaf. Qofka haddi aad doneeysid in aad waanisid si wanaagsan ayaa loo hadla, ma ahan qofka in aad bahdishid.

To be honest, Mogadishu is borderline going that way, I mean local girls won't leave their doorstep without a jalabiib, the baati and garbasaar is considered "qawnaan"
Only a tiny percentage wears Shuko and hijab.

The only people who dress as they wish is government people who are accompanied by security
