26 June = the birth of Somaliland. But before the baby uunsan socod baraan bu next door u guurguurtay. Tii ka raacday waa la ogyahay.

18 May = The rebirth of Somaliland. Baby-gi marku socod bartay u abuseki u adkeysan waayey ayu talaabo qaadey u Gurigii u ku dhashay inuu u laabto.

Maalina waa dhalashadiisi. Maalina waa dib-u-tashodiisi.

ma aqaan, cidan 18-may goonida u leh waa ayo? ma issaq ba? reer sland oo dhan ayay iska leh qabiilkay doonan ha ahaadeen. i think we should celerabte both days but 18-may will always be more important than june 26.

I dont blame him and I believe its a smart move as well....one of the dirty culture this kulmiye party brought upon somaliland is the mentality of Muhahid VS khayen or faqash servant.

before during riyaale,they used to brainwash the public by saying riyaale is an double agent and still have affection with mogdisho since he was a senior officer in the faqash secret service or the intellegence whereas their party included almost all of SNM mujahidiin ....even suleyman gaal used to wonder whether this kulmiye was a political party mise wa jabhad...

now bixi campaigners use the same old tactics with cirro by repeating he was a faqash servant even after afweyen regime was defeated, cirro continued in his job as a Somali ambassador in Russia,hence his absence in 18 May 1991.

so now I believe cirro rided the wave of 18 may vs 26 june heated debate that went viral among landers,and apparently 26 june is favored by the non-isxaaqi somalilanders as prof ahmed samatar said, 26 represents all qabiils of Somaliland while 18 may represents SNM....so Mr.Cirro played a risky game by taking sides in 18 vs 26, to attract samaroon and harti landers to his wadani party.

lool, this is just a campaign strategy. wuxuu is leeyahay some disgruntled members of beelaha darafyada shukaanso, si ay kuugu codeeyaan. This might backfire on him, it might anger beesha mujaahidiinta Arab Sheekh isxaaq.
Anyway, I am for the argument which say the two events should be celebrated equally.

Tani waa dacaayad raqiis ah from the usual suspects. What he said and how it is being interpreted is different. He acknowledged that June 26th is important day as he should and also did in fact state that May 18th is day of rebirth of our nation. He also factually stated that certain sections of Somaliland feel alien to this event and was making side joke that if May 18th doesn't excite them, we can make another date on top of May 18th that can be inclusive to non beesha dhexe clans. This is just a politician who is playing up to the grievances of his voters. Smart move me thinks.


Also I want to remind the Isaaq folks in here to stop bitching. If you want United Somaliland, then expect to cede some ground and at times get ready to swallow tough pill all in name of sustaining unity.
