BREAKING NEWS: UK's Parliament prepares an early motion to recognise Somaliland

That this House congratulates the people of Somaliland as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of reclaiming their independence; recognises the strong historical ties between Somaliland and the United Kingdom; welcomes the strong cooperation between the UK Government and Somaliland through existing development aid and help in sustaining democratic institutions in Somaliland, in particular the work of the Department for International Development, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the British Armed Forces; believes that Somaliland has both earned and deserves a higher level of support and encouragement from the international community; calls on the Government to facilitate an independent review of the recognition of Somaliland as an independent country; and notes the impressive 25 year record of democratic development and governance, acting as a beacon of peace and stability within one of the world's more turbulent regional environments.

Recognition from gaallo is not important to me.

The most important thing is self-recognition and self-believe.

I believe in the classical creation of nations that one has to be the hunter, gatherer, the cook and the feeder. Without going through the dual necessary process then you have another African state forever asking for hand outs from the whites who in their days started from ground zero without asking anyone for a recognition.

In this view I believe SL borders should not be limited to British drawn map but should go beyond after all such borderline was never rectified nor demarcated. It is free to grab as far as I am concern and the fittest must not stop himself unless the ocean waves push him back.

In such we should also exploit the fact that Somalia and Ethiopia have no official border either so Ethiopia should push its line southeast while we push ours south. Ethiopia and Somalia only have administrative line. Working together means we can both expand then call for official demarcation in the future. iyagana isku mashquli adiguna waxaga boob.

On 26 June 1960 when The people of Somaliland celebrated the end of British rule, it is said that an old man in Hargeisa saw some people celebrating and stopped someone and asked "waar waa maxey qeyladan iyo banaanbaxani maxaa dhacey??" The guy answered "adeer xornimo ayaa laheley...ee soo bax oo nala dabaaldag!" ...to which the old man replied "Waar xornimo iska daayo aqli ma la heley?.. marka aqli la helo' ayaan inila dabaaldagi doonaa"

i think this is only a pre motion to suggest to the parliament if they can present a motion for somaliland not that they will present a motion for sl recognition.


british parliament cannot recognize sl. egypt will never allow this if thart was the case sisi and the egyptian ambassador would knock on downingstreet door and tell the british to back off and not mess in their backyard.

britain refrianed even from being part of the talks to mediate the uk ambassador was asked why doesnt britisn mediate he declined and said its not in british interest to come inbetween somalia and somaliland
