Somalia needs bigger population

Post by OromoEthiopian »

Somalis are seen weak not only because of their country but also the size of your population. I think 70 Million population is what Somalia needs later in the future and that means you have to create 70 Million Somalis to actually have a big developed country with big economy.
Japan has 120 Million and Ethiopia will become a major country with 140 Million in 2063.

Fock no!

A big population is a disaster waiting to happen, specially in sub Saharan countries. Somalia can definitely catch up and surpass our neighboring countries based on our small population and large amount of land. That means lesser mouths to feed and more resources to spread around.

We good, bruh

Actually Somalia can easily accommodate population about 5x it's current size (assuming 10 million current population). For proof, look at India and China. Both countries were famine stricken and faced food shortages in the 50s and 60s but since then their population grew manifold. Today, they're food secure and are actually net exporters for certain crops. They were able to achieve this feat by improving their agricultural productivity and by extension overall economy. But improving agricultural productivity requires industry, a trait lacking in the Somali.
