Xaydhducato: I remember this town in 1997.
This is the point I catch my first dhigadheere from hawd to the cities. I remember that year I was living near dhoqoshay with my grandma . After the death of my father my Uncle dumaaled my stepmother, So my ayeeyo gave him lots of goats she also allowed him to take me to his new family. I was around 8 years old but my stubborn uncle wants me to walk with him from dhoqoshay to beer because we had no car that can take all our goats. At first I tried my best, but then I lost my right foot toe in the process, so basically I couldn't move beyond xaydh ducato. My uncle changed his mind and he decided to rent a truck to beer, unfortunately there was no available trucks, but the good thing is The village is a Xasan daahir stronghold our nothern clansmen , We remained there for days with the local support, Some men gave us shelter for us and our goats nearby the village. My uncle finally got a truck. He had no enough cash but he gave the driver several goats . After one year I run away from my uncle I am still on the run.
I am glad to see about Xaydh ducato today after 2 decades. Life is too short . https://youtu.be/GGiW31i5nBI

Xayd Ducato looks like prime geeljire grazing lands. Any farms there by any chance?

Cool story Dr. Joseph.
AUN aabo iyo hooyo.
Myself I have tracked the great Hawd on foot many times with my crazy but fun abtiyaal. One was a year older than me and the other two years (my hooyo's siblings). Then there was 6 other abtis in similar ages (hooyo's first cousins).
We made so much troubles and my hooyo hated when I went with them
I remember once we walked 3 days and 2 nights from a place called Lebida south of Degehbur to Daroor area. We got lost then it started to rain
That night I almost had hyperthermia. Ilkaha isku garacay si fiican and you know when someone gets lost fire is the signal but this night it was down pour...massive maay sxb. No chance for fire or to see one.
We used to hunt wild animals, kill livestocks from other families, chase their girls, start bush fires, and just shoot birds-----I never hit any animal with a gun but definitely wan aqana sida lo cabeyo oo lo rido thanks to my abtiyaal. Weliba waxan ku bartay sida lo riido mel la dhaho Goodirgalka, which is near Gosayga. It has heaps of wild life. My favorite was shooting down 'comaade' aka vultures. I never hit one actually.
All the time we used to play with guns and even we had accident one time where one of my abti shot another one. Nothing happened to him luckily the bullet went through both legs without cutting any arteries or hitting the bones. That was damn dabo lab with iifiso (midi afka cased)
I remember the recoil on my father's rifle was hardcore so I used to hold it against a tree trunk (dabadan ugu qaban jiray). We used to steal my father's rifle where as the AK47 we got that from the SNM xeero.
When not shooting xaywaanka we used to put a mirror against that termite mound ama dudumo. I'm sure you remember that little circle mirror that peeps carried in their shirt pockets. The best thing about dudumo was the bullet left a mark so you know where each person hit.
The best sound was when we used it near a mountain and it echoed. It was an adrenaline rush walee wayo it was 1990s and there was SNM-WSLF, Ethiopian army and tribal militia clashes. Every time we fired, there was the chance of one of them rushing to the area and firing on us. The echo made it that more scary but daring....qob qaaccc.
That's why my hooyo had heart attack markay maqasho inan abtiyashay racay
They had big impact on me. I couldn't have asked better abtis. They were my Bear Grylls.

All that I did while under 6.
When I go back to SL or Haud, waxan raba inan qori so qato and go thru at least few good caches. in fact that will be my xararaad.

Because I never went back to my adeer and brothers home. I can barely remember how my brothers look today although I do send money to the head of the family (their mother) . my adeer was axmaq .Timiro1999 wrote:Yusuf
