Puntland Livid About a Recent FAO Report..

That concluded, in that particular area of Somalia, there is no agricultural sector to speak of. Puntland claims nothing could be further from the truth, and contrary to FOA's bogus findings, the region has a robust agricultural industry and produces tons of wide variety of crops each year.

Which one of these versions of the story do you guys believe? Personally, of these two diametrically opposite take on the matter, I am inclined to think FAO's to be closer to the truth.

It's all a matter of scale.Somalis think owning a plot of land the size of a few swimming polls is a farm.Whereas FAO are talking square miles of production.

I know of many family members that have farm lands in Puntland, but nothing on the scale of huge sectors of land. They produce enough to feed their families and even sell on the market.
