Sumu felt a little a better afterwards and tried to brush off his disappointment as best as he could. Soon after, the civil war broke out, Sumu and his family went to Kenya to escape the war, they were the first arrivals at Dadaab refugee camp. Sumu was enrolled into a UNHCR school, he did very well and was transferred to a boarding school near Nairobi. A month later Sumu and his classmates were visiting the girls boarding school. Sumu got separated from the rest of the students, and while looking to find his mates, he entered the girls living quarters and came face to face with ten fufu girls, all ten of them looked like Gabourey Sidibe. Sumu was frozen and couldn’t move for a few seconds, but that felt like hours to him, he tried to run, but by now one of the girls was blocking the door. The girls locked the door and did unspeakable things to Sumu.
Sumu felt he lost his soul, and fell into depression. His teachers were very concerned and contacted the UNHCR, they took him to their office and made an appointment with a shrink. At first Sumu resisted talking about the incident, but finally opened up, telling the shrink what had happened. The UNHCR didn’t want this story to go out, they were scared of bad publicity. They put Sumu on top of the list for their refugee resettlement program, within a month Sumu was living in Minneapolis.
Twenty years later Sumu was living in a 1 bed room apartment sleeping on a single mattress. His tol besha Marihan were very concerned, because everyone was married, having kids left and right, and Sumu was still single living alone. They decided to do something about it. The elders gathered at now reformed sheikh Advo’s house. SLSR had enough and went to the elders, and asked for a divorce.
