Godey has had dams, agricultural projects and has been connected via road to the north among other things. The problem with the Jigjiga administration is they will invite people to invest and then begin harassing people who invest for whatever reason, many folks from the region have more solid investments in Addis Ababa/Dire or now Jigjiga which due to its growing size is tolerable.

Godey can overtake Jigjiga very quickly, but every-time an area begins growing somehow the Jigjiga administration create a hostile environment accusing people of being ONLF/mucaarad and so on.

I have a hard time understanding this! It makes absolutely no sense and it's very stupid. Why would they not want Godey to become a major town??

Are people of Godeey being punished for being part of ONLF or something? Last time I checked the Cabdallas weren't the biggest ONLF members.

Godeey is very large if you've seen that overhead shot on YouTube you'll see how big it is. Its population is 70K+ but very underdeveloped. It could've easily become a major town/city but there is some form of embargo on the place

Stop whining about Godey bro like they are been treated differently lol have you been to Jarar and Qoraxay, whole settlements have been abandoned and wiped out, places in Fiiq were sanctioned to the extent they didn't see a truck supply for extended periods resorting to camels for smuggling. Things have eased slightly but what occurred in the last few years is genocidal.

Godey is a big city, and as a matter of fact was always bigger than Jigjiga but since Jigjia has become the capital city of the DDS, lots of infrastractures are being diverted into Jigjiga, which is ok because Jigjiga is very important for the Beesha Absame. Trust me, Godey will be a major city with lots of new high risings pretty soon:

Guhaad, I never thought badhaadhe will make in the top ten..is it bigger than dhoobley? Imo, dhoobley is developing at faster rate than any town in somalia. Border town, mostly safe, most OG are investing there and many NGOs have their base there.
The funny thing is dhoobley was tuulo ten years ago.
