According to analysis published in 2013 SLAND can sustainabily consume 40 thousand ton of fish annually by the most conservative estimate.
Only a fraction of that figure is actually exploited. Now considering we have skyrocketing employment and a high profitable boneless fish
market, it amazing why there is no body investing there. Our urban centers are fairly deeper inland but with enough ice it's a no problem no
matter how bad the state of roads are.

It will offer an excellent alternative to the expensive camel meat.

5-10,000 $ it depends how many ton. I know a ice machine in maydh and its 2 ton, but all their catch they sell it on in berbera, they also buy fish from the locals for about 1.5 dollar a kilo and sell it in berbera for 3.5 dollar a kilo.

But like in the bbc reporter them small boats dont catch nothing we need one boat that can get 4-5 tonne a go.

Yes yall both right fisheries sector needs to be tapped, it would relieve a lot unemployment and make meat prices affordable of course fishing equipment needs to be upgrade and new ice facilities have to be built.

10k only that's so cheap for average diaspora to start a business.
Though it's a long ride from Xarshow to Berbera just to sell dozens of kilogram of fish.
They probably rent trucks for that.

Rambie the guy uses fishing boats to take the fish to berbera not trucks, he only use trucks to sell it on in ceerigaabo and ceel afweyn.

He spend more than 10k, more like 30 to 40k but the ice machine cost about 10k.

When the new maydh port establishes he will sell his fish further inshallah
