United States Africa Command, (U.S. AFRICOM) is reportedly giving arms and military equipment to former Somali warlord to fight against the Somalia-based Al Shabaab.

Col Barre Aden Shire known as (Barre Hiiraale) has paid a secret visit to U.S. AFRICOM military base in Kenya, where he met with top US military commanders.

Relaible sources say, that Senior AMISOM commanders are accompanying Barre Hiiraale on his unannounced visit to the U.S. AFRICOM base in Kenya.

During the door-closed meeting, both sides have discussed a range on issues, mainly the war on Al Shabaab militants in Lowe and Middle Jubba regions on southern Somalia.

Reports said US wants Col Barre to lead a new offensive to liberate Jubba region from Al Shabaab after Ahmed Madobe, the leader of Jubbaland has failed to do the job.

The developments come as Somali Federal Government in Mogadishu has announced on Sunday to launch a military operation to root Al Shabaab out of the Country

Ahmed madobe administration failed to liberate the land, someone that can defeat alshabaab and had the experience is no other than Barre Hiraale. I would definitely support him on that.

Al-Shabaab would never be defeated by any Somali group unless the west lifts the arms embargo against Somalia, and commits 15 to 20 years plan of aiding the formation of Somali military. In reality, the West and Somalis themselves have no intention of seeing Somalia standing on its feet. Yet, very soon the Somalia's offshore hydro-carbons will be exploited and no Somali entity will be able to challenge it.

Maybe Kenya is ending Madobe protection.

In his recent video, he exposed a lot of things. I have never heard him speak before that video and I tho the guy is quite sensible.

But by now Somalis know Somali politics is a doggy dog world and those in charge will replace whoever they want at will with his rival.

Hiraale getting arms is a possible scenario and of course Hiraale is going to use the arms to influence Jubbaland.

Madobe used to be in the same camp as al Shabab leaders and he has not provided any intelligence on his old friends. He seems like a nice guy trying to mind his business but spoilers like ruthless killers.
