Our future if we don't stop bashing each other
If we don't end this stupid online trend of woman/man bashing, this will eventually cause resentment to grow between the sexes and we are going to be destroyed as a community. Language is very important! Yes, there are some issues in our community that we need to have an honest discussion about, but we need to have these discussions without the use of gross generalizations and degrading language. Why can't discuss these issues like adults?
As an African minority in the West, I think it's a good idea to look towards those that came before us in order to learn from them and see how we are going to end up as a community if we don't get our shit together. We need each other for our continued survival as a race.
There is a serious gender war going on in black American community. On one side, you have male chauvinists like Tommy Sotomayor who have made a living out of degrading and humiliating black women (some of the stuff that he says is downright insane). You also have entertainers and regular guys referring to their own women as "bitches and hoes" (which many of the brothers here have sadly adopted) while placing foreign women on a pedestal.
On the other hand you have crazed black feminists who are seriously encouraging black women to abandon black men and turn their backs on their race. There are plenty of them on lipstick alley, YouTube, Facebook, social media in general. Some of them even say openly that they do not care about black men being murdered by police!
They have been duped into thinking that they can exist independently of their men! Forget whites killing them off, they are doing it themselves.
We could be headed in a similar direction if do not get our act together.

Re: Our future if we don't stop bashing each other
The only women that I have seen being bashed are those that go for ajanabi which is about less then 1%, every sane minded Somali realizes we have the best women by far, you can't even begin to compare it to what happens to AA community, not even 5% of it happens to us, there are far more pressing issues then this.
Even on the topic of treatment of women there is a massive difference within the Somali's themselves, you have certain cultures up North that are very well known for their harshness often confused with false masculinity in their treatment of women and backwardness, when I was in Hargaisa an old man told me, they didn't used to sleep next to their women at night but on a mattress next to the bed because they believed "it would age them quickly" which shocked me a great deal.
But for us we love and appreciate all our women and have a long track record for it, there is not a single case of divorce in my immediate family stretching from all my direct abiyaal's and adeer's, that's right! not a single case of divorce.

Go on Twitter and watch the SJW crowd bash the men. You also have the self-hating ummah crowd.
I also see men bashing women in general on SomNet all the time. When they bash the ajnabi-lovers, they usually speak in general terms that would include all women instead of being very specific. They will say "somali girls have become.....", instead of restricting their criticism to a particular group of our women.
I also see more and more guys online who try to mimick hip-hop culture by speaking of our women in a very degrading way.

Those platforms don't really represent anything, some hiphop loose dhocil taken advantage off by another Somali dude whom left her afterwards and is raging in anger is meaningless (this is the main source of female to Somali male bashing).
I have gone to very large gatherings of Somali's repeatedly and never see this, I live not far from a place were a lot of Somali's live in London and never seen such things, I know a lot of women and they all exclusively love their men, the feelings is even stronger in the male population, as a far less % marry out then women.
Hell hath no fury then a scorned women is the saying, you see this kind of stuff in every race, just recently I seen Persian women bashing their males in way I never see a scorned Somali women do, all bashing comes from inferiority complex and being wronged and the false believe the grass is greener, everyone goes through these kind of mini phases and most snap out of it very quickly when the reality hits them, you went through a similar thing just like many of us.
I see more male on male & qabiil bashing then I see women bashing on here, few hip hop dhocil or ciyaal suuq farah's don't represent the very fast majority of the population.

Re: Our future if we don't stop bashing each other
My fear is that this online phenomenon will eventually spill over into the real world. The last thing we need is a gender-based division to add to the countless divisions that already exist.
Also, I suspect that you and I are both from the "old school". This problem seems to be effecting the younger generation. When I was in my teens, we didn't have these issues of self-hate and gender wars that I see all over the internet. My younger sister, who has a good network of Somali sisters, also tells me that there are tensions between the two sexes. Her friends are mostly in their late teens/early twenties.

Walaalo, i think you need to understand that these issues are common among all 2nd generation ethnicity's living in the diaspora. People are becoming gaal, khaniis, ciyaal suuq, self haters etc. These are common syndromes of people who are Westernized and hold little to no affinity to their home country. And there is nothing you can do to stop it so just give up. Caruuto soomaalida ee qurbahaa ku nool are just in a very bad situation.Raganimo wrote:Go on Twitter and watch the SJW crowd bash the men. Care about your family and your children and try to do good with them. You cant save everyone man.

Maybe you're right bro. I do think that we should at least try to do something about these negative social trends. Of course our biggest priorities should be our own children and family members.Muxamed1197 wrote:Walaalo, i think you need to understand that these issues are common among all 2nd generation ethnicity's living in the diaspora. You're definitely right about how many people are leaving behind their dhaqan iyo Diin though. When I used to frequent somali forums back in the day, it wasn't normal to find gaalo/khaniisiin/self-haters amongst us. There are more of them now and they have become more bold.

Here you are referring to me ! Listen 10 years ago Somali girls use to adore us, they would hold is above any race, even fight for us. Today they are fighting against us.. it is getting worse every year. I want to reverse the trend before we end up like the niggers. You want the same thing I assume, so let us unite around this issue. I have seen your interactions with older members like Phinks and Liquidhydrogen, you seem to lack pragmatism and moderation. As smooth said there is much more need for the guys to have unity than to suck up to some empty headed xalima.Raganimo wrote:Go on Twitter and watch the SJW crowd bash the men. Smooth is on to something, I propose we rule out qabyalad for women, foreigners and half-breeds, don't let them see us fight dirty because it gets out of hand and it is similar to when two guys fight in a nightclub no bitch wants them.

Re: Our future if we don't stop bashing each other
As someone who grew up in the west, i've never met a gaal or a khaniis muslim full stop let alone a somali subxanallah. What does ajnabi jacayl really mean to someone who is british and has never set foot on their homeland? It is just the way liberal west that tells you to embrace transsexuals is. This idea of sticking with your people or not insulting your people in front of an ajaanib is foreign to them, they dont even understand somali properly lol.Raganimo wrote:Maybe you're right bro. Wallahi somalis have a natural desire to move back to their home country unlike these asians who despise their country which is decent. If we had the stability, development and peace as pakistan does, you won't find even 10 % of the number of somalis currently here. We need to build back our great nation back and this will solve all issues.
Re: Our future if we don't stop bashing each other
You clearly have lots of emotional issues that you need to deal with. Probably you were rejected and humiliated by a woman for you to be this hateful towards your own sisters. The problem with people like you is that you cannot think past your own genitals and understand that these women that you are talking about are somebody else's sisters and daughters. You don't realise how destructive this type of rhetoric is to a community. This is not about your pathetic insecurities. It's much bigger than you and me. You're no better than these "niggers" that you are degrading.Adali wrote:Here you are referring to me ! And stop exaggerating, the vast majority of Somali women end up with Somali men. You seem so insecure.

Re: Our future if we don't stop bashing each other
Raganimo, I have been rejected many times, it is a part of life and growing up, I am a man and know how to deal with rejection, I learned it quite young and I think I am far more emotionally stable than the average guy, when my emotions flare up once in a blue moon I am like "well damn" it is a rare event. Don't let my eccentricity fool you mate, I want us to have a rational discussion, you have made numerous topics about social engineering and it fascinates me because I don't even make these many topics, you are passionate, and that is why unlike other guys here I do not insult you back when you are name calling. I do see the same things they see, but I rather not discourage you from doing what you are doing.
