Is Somaliland ready?

Post by Futurist »

If Ethiopia does implode, is Somaliland ready to deal with the consequences. We would need to secure the border with Ethiopia and protect Somali civilians inside Ethiopia in case of conflict breaks out there.

Would our 60,000 troops be too thinly spread or are they capable of doing all this?

What would the government's position be? Do the PL/SL leadera have the brains and the balls to deal with such a monumental task?

God forbid, No. But if people mobilize, we can definitely stop the Xabashi qaxootis. We just have to make life hell for them that they either stay away ama orod Nagu dhaafaan.

But I doubt West is gonna let Abysinia fall. It is too big to fail

Anything is possible. The Somaliland government should be ready to deal with all scenarios. Im not sure what plans they have in place, but we should all know that oppressive dictatatorial regimes like the one in Ethiopia don't last forever.

Lighting candles was a disgrace. I hope they will act with some common sense.

This may well be the case, but the current situation does not serve us either. As you well know Ethiopia does not even recognise Somaliland; they do not really use our port; and they have all sorts of trade barriers against SL.

And besides, oppressive dictatorial regimes never last... it is bound to implode.

It depends on how far Ethiopia disintegrates.
if it becomes another somalia, then yes Somaliland is capable of controlling the haud, shiniile region, jijiga.
Harar would be just beyond our capabilities,

you see it all comes down to logistics, and this is more important when you are using vehicles that need fuel and guns that need ammo, as opposed to swords/spears and camels/horses.

The advantages in logistics means that even our incompetent, half trained millitias could expand and hold a great deal of territory
if it is only challneged by other similiar millitias, even if they outnumber us 2 or 3 to one.
this advantage alone will allows to to get by..

imagine if we had proper training and organization !!!!!!

The same thing is protecting us from a future somalia resurgence.
lets say hypothetically somalia gets turkish training and gets serious about it, and wipes out the corruption.
lets say they get modern weapons etc. Even if they outnumber us 5 to 1, they can only transport and supply less than 1/3 of our troops. We will outnumber them in every engagement, basically it is impossiple for somalia even a strong and united and capable somalia to ever conquer us because of geography and logistics...
