No they're not. They're corrupt and tribalistic. Democracy is a flawed system at the best of times (just look at the Brexit fiasco in the UK). But when you have a poor, superstitious, tribalistic population and make them vote - don't expect anything good.

People don't vote for policies because a) no SL party has a clear and detailed manifesto and b) even if they did, the people are to ignorant to decide which party is best for them.

All in all, this Somaliland nonsense has been a joke with an unfunny punchline.

Xagal WADANI + UMMADA (which are now one party) had the biggest number of votes combined in Awdal back in 2012. Awdal
will definitely vote for majority WADANI, because there is no point voting for Kulmiye otherwise Muuse Bixi will help his

Udub was not a maryo alool party as HJ was not part of it. Kulmiye on the other hand is a maryo alool party, and although the maryo alool might think they got this one in the bag, they might wanna be prepared for the fact that could loose. After all Somaliland is a multi clan nation, and there is always the chance that the suuf alool might loose. Why can't you accept that fact?
