How come Berbera never really grows in size?

Despite being the place where most Sland revenue comes in from and having advantages that other cities don't such as a airport
and port, I don't see much difference between 2004 and 2016 on satellite imagery of Berbera which is 12 years after.

1940 Berbera population were about 40000, today less than 10000

So reer berbera are right to claim benefits for their city and region since every other region in SL is milking berbera port and the revenue goes directly to madaxtooyada not even the finance or commerce or even transportation ministries.

20 years ago bosaso was smaller than berbera..

Buurtinle badhan qardho bosaso and garowe have all over taken berbera in size and population.

Berbera had all the essential foundations not to be touched by any city in North West or North East of the then republic..

I would really like to know the reasons behind it..

Opportunities and lack of wider Idoor community.

Idoor has been moving east, south and west direction for over 150 years and so no one looked back in Berbera and Bulahar.

Berbera has the dummiest and most none visionary leaders in SL too.

I recommend 300,000 plants, 50 tons of rocks and gravel and make the city bit green.

Heavily encourage and support tourism.

No one wants to live in that desert even if you offered free housing.

Everyone left Berbera for either Hargeisa or Burco.
The place is way too hot. Unless there is AC everywhere like Dubai, forget about it.

Reer Berbera are residents of Berbera and it's trur the city is milked to death.

It generates 70% of SL revenue yet not even 10% go back.

The sole reason is the heat. Isaaq have a low tolerance for heat. They prefer the moderate temperatures of the highlands to the hellish coastal towns.
