...in Governments.

It's because it pays to know men of power and if you have blood ties, the Better. Like the saying goes "it is not what you know but who you know" and in the case of Somalis who your 'tol' are!.
I say this because I have recently been offer a good position with perks and some at Presidential Palace to join the Administration team at the Office of The Presidency.

I would have worked as a member of the civil service meaning its permanent and non partisan and what ever government in power, will remain employed.
Though I have a second rate degree in human resources management and few insignificant certificates in related fields, and with little experience.
what got me the offer (8o% ) of it is due to the fact that there is a guy very closely related to my father and several guys who knew my grandfather during the SNM era, who have high positions in that ministry. In other words the biggest factor that got me the job offer was tolnimo.
I got the offer without actually applying for it or enquiring about it. They just asked me what educational background I hold and what I do currently in London during a conversation in a family gathering and dinner at Maansoor and hoorayyyy an offer of a well paid and with good prospects.

I had to turn it down due to other commitments but I was told that "when you are ready get in contact and will have a suitable position ready for you... " and was adviced "...just keep working hard and keep your nose clean!".

Before this encounter I never thought I will get offered employment in non-family-business, just because of my bloodline aka Tolnimo. And I have come to see that kinship/tolnimo may have its advantages when it comes to finding careers in the countries of The Somali.

And then you'll see miskiin yar who doesn't have family in higher places o ay silic Hooyadi jaamacada kaga saartay that is jobless because ku yar oona weligi waxba dhiganin aya la shaqaalaysiinaya because of tolka. Straight piss take

Well when u support ur clans man then u are deceiving urself, a man who is not from ur clan but knows what he's doing will benefit the country which benefits u, and that's why Somalia is where it is today, back in the days it was about the guys ability not the clan he's from

Ps certain jobs should just be left for those who know how to execute it

From a business perspective it is always good to have diversity, there is internal competition, the minority clans men is trying hard, which inturn is rewarded, forcing the majority clansmen to try hard out of spite and hatred, so who will the winner be ? the business owner !

However I don't disagree with positive tribalism ! if you want to do it, go ahead at your own expense... my problem is when the public funds support your tribe it creates resentment which can lead to vengeful clan war.

if a private company practices positive tribalism that doesn't bother me in the least, if Dhahabshiil hires only HA I could careless, I would still end up using the company that meets my needs regardless of their self serving clannist tendency.
