My trip to SL

income of the locals especially those in the cities have increased a lot intii aan meesha ka maqnaa. For the two months I have been in Hargiesa, very few people asked me money, dadka badankoodu inay i casumaan mooyee, wax i shaxaada mabaan arag. Luckly most of my friends are quite well of in Harigesa standards.. some of them run successful businesses, majority of them work for various UN agencies with good salaries, they only pay only 6% tax on their income, while others run their NGO's and some work for the government.
In Hargiesa, tragic jam, careless drivers and bad roads are the biggest annoyance of the day. They built too many humps on the roads to regulate speed which does not help traffic. There are around 70 thousand cars in Somailand, over 80% of those are driven in Hargiesa, its hectic especially duhurkii marka saqada laga soo rawaxo. I just shake my heard in disbelieve whenever I see heavy traffic in Jigjiga yar. I remember in the 90s when there was less 10 cars in the area, laamidaan hadaan doono kubada isaga ciyaari jinay, Imikana waxaad moodaa inay magaaladii oo gawaadhi wada yeelatay ay Jigjiga yar soo dagtay
. Population of Hargiesa has at least doubled in the last 10 years, the city is easily over one million people.
The biggest disappointment in Hargiesa is people building on the roads, dayr wayn buu iska samaysanayaa oo laamidii dhowr mitir ku soo durkay or worse the actual house is extended few meters into the road. Mar marbaad is odhanaysaa ummadan wadanka ku nool miyaanay maqal the concept of the pavement. Magaalada in badan oo ka mid ayaa mustaqbalka la dumin doonaa. The worst offender in road building is Somcable, fooqa Ina Awsiciid ka dhistay Hindiya-laynka, behind sheikh Bashiir school. If there is a future in Hargiesa's city planning, duminta fooqa Ina Awsiciid waa in laga bilaabaa.
Boorama is no longer a tuulo, it has grown a lot. Before Kulmiye there was no sigle road in the city, hadana laamiyada magaalada dhexdeeda ku yaalaa ciidaasay ka badan yihiin. I haven't seen many cars in there though, only too many Bajaajs. Reer Boorama seemingly became more patrriotic as well, calanka Somaliland meel walba uu ka lushaa, haday guri noqoto, haday meherad noqoto iyo laamida dusheeda noqotoba.
Gabiley has grown as well but Wajaale surprised me how much it has grown over the years and business was booming there but people were not happy about the Xabashi/Cagdheer administrated side of the city.
Berbera was booming too, there are paved roads everywhere in that city and people do not build on the raods like Hargiesa
But it was too hot when I was there.
I plan to visit, Burco, Erigabo, Ceel sheikh and Gacan Libaax in the near future.
